What kind of church are we?

The Christian Reformed Church of Wonga Park is a community based church and members are spread across Melbourne with most members concentrated in the Eastern and South Eastern suburbs. At Wonga Park we are a fellowship of ordinary people, saved by Christ and renewed by the Holy Spirit. We aim to bring the good news of love and peace to the community. God sent his Son to rescue the world from its rebellion against Him. We believe that Jesus is Lord over every area of life.

Regardless of your situation, Jesus Christ offers hope, peace and meaning for your life. Only He can forgive sin and provide eternal life. He is our only answer to the struggles we face in daily living.

The Christian Reformed Churches of Australia (CRCA) is a denomination of about 50 congregations and smaller groups established across all states since 1951. The CRCA is part of the Protestant Calvinist (that is, Reformed and presbyterian) wing of the Christian Churches.

What is worship like at Wonga Park?

At Wonga Park worship is a mixture of contemporary and traditional styles in our services. Preaching and teaching the Bible are central in all of our services. Wonga Park is dedicated to bring the good news, the gospel to all who cross our path.

What should I wear?

Wear what you feel is comfortable and appropriate for worship. Our congregation covers a broad spectrum of ages and backgrounds. Some prefer to dress up while others prefer to dress down, but we’re all here for the same reason - to focus our hearts and minds on our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Are there activities for my young children during the services?

For parents with babies we have a crying room-a glass fronted room at the back of the worship centre where parents can care for their babies while participating in the service.

During the service, we have a creche for toddler age children, structured around a bible story and age appropriate children's activities. All children age 2-5 are welcome! You just need to sign them in and out.

During the service, we also have a vibrant Sunday School ministry, starting at age 5. We use a rotational model, where the same theme is explored each week, but from multiple angles. This helps our children gain a deeper understanding of the theme and helps them to retain the core concepts more fully. Again, all children are welcome.

For high-school aged youth, a Senior Sunday school class runs before the service 9:30am - 10am. This class provides an excellent opportunity for our young people to explore and ask questions about the Christian faith.

Where do I park?

We are on the corner of Gatters Road and Yarra Roads and our main entrance is accessible from Gatters road. As you drive in to the church, the road splits in two. Feel free to pick either side, as they both lead to a car park.

How can I get connected?

When you visit our church, we do our very best to make sure someone will greet you at the door, guide you to your seat and catch up with you after our services. We also have connect cards available in our foyer, which you can fill in and drop in our collection bags.
